A Brief History:
The history of Kahlúa dates back to Mexico in 1936 when four guys got together to make one of their ideas a reality.
We can credit Senior Blanco, Montalvo Lara, and the Alvarez brothers for making this liqueur a possibility.
Four years after launching, the company expanded their reach bringing Kahlúa to the United States.
Since then, it had had grown so much in popularity that in the 1980s it became the number one coffee liqueur in the world and in the 1990s Kahlúa became a movie star as a scene decoration in many movies all over the silver screen. Fast forward to today and Kahlúa is still loved and used in cocktails throughout the US.
Jeff Bridges’ character, The Dude, in the movie the Big Lebowski drinks 9 White Russians throughout the film.
