White Chocolate Peppermint Martini
You know you can do a lot with a martini glass, and the martini cocktail itself has so many different renditions, it’s no surprise there’s a number of holiday versions of the classic cocktail. We chose the White Chocolate Peppermint Martini to not only fill your liver with holiday cheer but the colors and flavors will make you feel as jolly as St. Nicholas himself.
White Chocolate Peppermint Martinis are a delicious treat! The great thing is that it’s like a create your own style of a cocktail where you can customize it for yourself without ruining the overall feel of the drink. If you want it creamy, you can add more cream. If you want it mintier, put equal amounts of vanilla and peppermint, not feeling white chocolate? That’s okay too!
It’s a healthy ABV yielding around 30-45% depending on how closely you follow our recipe. Be warned, each liquid ingredient, except half and half, does contain booze. But the great thing is you can batch this cocktail up and freeze it for easy holiday entertaining if you can’t drink it all at once. If you prefer to measure alcohol in spoons by the way 1 oz equals 2 tablespoons.
There are a few differences between the Classic Martini we taught you to make back in August and this one such as the lack of gin. We’re kind of glad that there isn’t such a thing as vanilla gin though… Also, don’t try to stick an olive or make this martini “dirty” it will not end well.
A Brief History:
We taught you all about the three different versions of the Martini’s origins back in August. To revisit said article click here. As for when the variation of a White Chocolate Peppermint Martini came to be, well, there’s little information out there. A lot of the recipes we found claim they invented it themselves, we imagine it had to have been a joyful story of holiday cheer from the likes of Betty Crocker or Martha Stewart.
Peppermint is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint
It’s the number 1 selling flavor among non-chocolate, hard candies!
We hope you dug this short, but sweet, Drink of the Week. If you’re varying from the norm this holiday season this recipe is sure to impress. We really love themes if you haven’t noticed so why not celebrate the last one holiday of the year with this happy holiday themed martini.
